Well, here I am once again trying to get past the writer's block. It seems to rise out of no where whenever I know I need to write something a blog post. I guess I just need to climb over the wall, or know a hole in it or find a way around it, but on the other side I must.

I am current in the land of stress this is ameliorated by faith. Living by faith what I must do when the future appears uncertain, and life appears to be heading into a nosedive. I must cling to God's promises. Some of these precious promises are:

But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. Hebrews 13:5

The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee. Jeremiah 31:3

And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.  For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Luke 11:9, 10

Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10

Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. Joshua 1:9

There are many more as the Bible is full of promises that God has made and says He will keep. I have found Him to be faithful to keep His word. Many times its it the little things, things that many would probably say, oh, that was just a coincidence. I cherish what a minister sais in a sermon I heard years ago: there are no coincidences in the life of a Christian.

By now you know, of course, that I am a Christian. I read the news and I see that Christians are often under attack for their beliefs, especially by certain groups who have adopted an atheistic view of the world. Be they socialist, Marxist, evolutionist, or other, they have chosen to disbelieve in God. There are any number of reasons why someone makes that choice. I'm glad they are able to make that choice, not because I believe it is the right or even logical choice for them to make [and they will certainly disagree with me on that point] but because the God I love and serve allows them to make that choice. We have free will. We can choose what we want to believe. The God I love wants only those who will love Him freely to do so. He doesn't force, or  coerce, anyone to believe in Him. He did not make us robots.

I have been watching this video on YouTube. Not only are the harmony and acoustics just  wonderful, the message of the song is soothing. Crossing the Bar is a poem by Alfred, Lord Tennyson and is often associated with the ending of life. Sure, I'm a senior citizen, but not in any sort of terminal state as far as I know. Still, not one of us knows just when our last day on earth may occur. The words of Solomon in the book of Ecclesiastes reference the same end of life scenario.

Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern.  Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it. Ecclesiastes 12:6, 7

 Crossing the Bar

B Alfred, Lord Tennyson

Sunset and evening star,
And one clear call for me!
And may there be no moaning of the bar,
When I put out to sea,

But such a tide as moving seems asleep,
Too full for sound and foam,
When that which drew from out the boundless deep
Turns again home.

Twilight and evening bell,
And after that the dark!
And may there be no sadness of farewell,
When I embark;

For tho' from out our bourne of Time and Place
The flood may bear me far,
I hope to see my Pilot face to face
When I have crost the bar.
